If you are a SEDOL employee working in the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program at John Powers Center or Grayslake North High School, you can attend the classes for free. The DHH Program has professional development funds set aside for ASL Classes. Your registration fee will be covered by that fund. No need to submit for reimbursement. The ASL Class Coordinator will put in the request to access those funds on your behalf.
No, SEDOL parents and family members registration fees are covered under the SEDOL Foundation grant. You must indicate your student's name and program to qualify for the free class.
A new policy has been implemented. SEDOL Member District Staff members are welcome to join ASL Classes, but must pay the class registration fee. Depending on your district policy, you may want to request for the class registration fee to be reimbursed.
No! When you register, please indicate that you are a SEDOL staff member. Professional Development funds will be used to cover the registration fee. There is no paperwork that needs to be submitted by the staff member. The ASL Class Coordinator will complete the paperwork on your behalf. Happy learning!
The registration fee for an 8-week session of ASL Classes is $50.00 for an individual and $100.00 for a family of four then $25.00 for each additional family member.
ASL Classes are free for SEDOL students and their family members. Upon registration, please indicate the name of your student in order to have the registration fee waived.
